Hunger Needs During Covid!

Help me give my students food and snacks during the pandemic. It's a rough time for families.

My Students

My students come from the most diverse school in the city. They have a variety of ethnic groups, classes, educational backgrounds, and learning styles. We are also honored to have a variety of abilities. We serve students with multiple physical, mental, and emotional impairments. Our students have a chance to learn with a true snapshot of humanity.

My students have the joy to learn.

In the midst of water issues, budget cuts, and buildings closing, my students are determined to learn. There is low morale among students and staff. The impact of these conditions is deeply impacting learning; yet, they are working to overcome these odds and become successful.

My Project

My students are home learning again. So, many don't have access to the free breakfast and lunches that are provided from school. The schools also provide weekend back packs or we hear who needs added supports easier. Therefore, many students are struggling to eat during the day. Then, our families are trying to go to hourly jobs, while keeping their families online and fed. It's a very difficult time for them. Then, if a family member is sick, they may not have the option of keeping their job. Therefore, any food supports helps them out during our 'at home' learning again.
