Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Some of my students still have not discovered that reading can capture your imagination. That amazing feeling of pride and accomplishment will hopefully be a part of them when they complete their reading and projects. This project could help spark their interest in reading.
My students are bright, funny, and really want to read.
We are extremely lucky to be in our school which is brand new. My hope is that by the end of the school year my students interest in reading will grow and they will become more interested in reading before they go to high school. Our school is an Urban setting in a very low poverty area. Our school was built brand new a few years ago.
My Project
My students will not only read Hunger Games, they will create a project with the Hunger Games theme. They will be able to create a cross stitch bookmark of The Mockingjay symbol from the story. They will also be able to create an ornament with a picture of Hunger Games book cover of their choice.
My students will be able to read the story Hunger Games and get fully into the story by creating a project with the story.
My hope is that this will be the school year that my students will finally become truly interested in reading.
