My Students

Have you ever been so enthralled with a book that it's all you can think about? You dream about, think about it at work, see the characters in the nightly news? That's how I felt about Hunger Games and I can't wait to share the fire with my students.

My students are primarily between the ages of 15 & 17.

They come from all kinds of families & backgrounds. The one thing my students have in common is that school is difficult for them. Every day, in every class, they are constantly reminded of their struggle to read. Despite their difficulty to read, my students have been Beginning to read The Hunger Games. I want this set of books so badly so that I can instill the love of reading in my students. Reading an almost 400 page book will instill such pride in my students and I know they will have to read the next two books in the trilogy =).

My Project

These resources will change my student's lives because this book will show them that a good book can change your life and your way of looking at the world. My students will investigate how our world relates to the Hunger Games. We will examine how we as a citizens, participate in the demise of society everyday. This book will empower my students to do the right thing in their everyday lives.
