Mrs. Ehlers from Newburgh NY is requesting Books through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

Humble and Kind Graduation

My students need this book as a reminder of being humble and kind in order to find success in their lifetime.

My Students

"Through the work of all we will achieve inclusive excellence." This is our district mission statement. This shows that through the work of all students, staff, family, and all, we will create the best future possible for our children without limits.

My students come from an underprivileged neighborhood full of drugs, violence, and poor influences.

Many of their family members are incarcerated, or have found themselves in bad situations. They often do not have texts in their homes, and move from place to place. As a graduation present, I would like to provide my students with this book which they can carry with them through their futures to be a reminder to be humble and kind throughout life to help find success. This book will help teach them a meaningful lesson. This book is based on the song "Humble and Kind" by Tim McGraw.

My Project

I will personalize each book for each student in my classroom, and present it as they graduate in June of 2016. This will be a meaningful gift for them to hold onto into their futures. It will be a reminder to become the best person they can be, and to work hard for all they want in life. It demonstrates that through hard work, you may achieve your dreams. Their dreams are not limited to a career, college, family, and overall doing the right thing each and everyday.

This project will help create a better world as the words in the text teach a lesson of how to be a good person.

It will influence them to make the right choices, and to be the best person that they can be. This is provide students with the opportunity to find symbolism, and to read over the summer.
