My Students

I always get the reaction "Oh my! Why on Earth would you CHOOSE to be around MIDDLE SCHOOLERS all day. The answer is easy: I love how amazing and unique they all are and I appreciate their developing personalities.

They each learn in different ways and some have overcome unspeakable events at such an early and precious age.

I have many students that have incredible talents they share with me and some that keeps their amazing gift to themselves. I love getting to know my students and enjoying them as people and all of their awesomeness!

My Project

I love to give my students REAL examples of what things look like that we study. In 7th grade science we focus a full unit on organs and the human body. Sometimes, even with numbers pictures and videos, it is still difficult for a 12 year old to imagine what a pancreas looks like or how all of those organs actually fit inside of us.

My goal for the human body model is to use it regularly in class as a reference tool when teaching about the different organ systems and explaining how they work together in our bodies.

I feel like students will have a much easier time identifying the organs and where they are located along with their functions as an organ system when they can see the full life size model.
