This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a Title I school with amazing kids who are excited about school and want to learn. They are inquisitive and creative kids. They come from low income families who are very transient. They need and deserve to have amazing wonderful things just for them to help them learn whether they are in my class for a year, a week, or even one day.

These wonderful and amazing kids need costumes for Beauty and the Beast for next year's musical.

We have a before school drama camp we started this year and need help getting the costumes to put on our show.

Because of the amazing job they did with Seussical Kids the middle school created a drama program to support them as they make their transition to 7th grade. Our school is full of amazing talent that otherwise would not get this type of opportunity. The kids practice reading skills, public speaking, dancing, singing, script writing, and costume design.

The teachers who help are not paid. Their is no budget. It all comes from wonderful amazing people like you.

My Project

These are the first of many costumes that the students will use for their production of Beauty and the Beast. When they first see the costumes, they get excited. But, when they put them on... they become for the first time the character they are playing.

The best part of the production is when the students put on their costume for the first time and show their friends how they look.

Their eyes light up and they walk a little taller. They can remember their lines. It's called stage magic! I live for this moment!

Then when they get to see themselves with their make-up as well, they can hardly stand it. The energy they give off would light an entire stadium! These students are so worth everything we can give them. They deserve every moment like this we can give them.
