My Students

My students live in lower socioeconomic neighborhoods that require support and resources for learning. One of the biggest challenges my students live with is the lack of knowing where their next meal will come from, not having basic care items, and needing support as a whole child. I work at a school where basic sports equipment is hard to fund.

Everyone should have access to resources used to help with staying active and healthy everyday.

A large percentage of our students live in multi-family member homes, foster homes, other family members and friends' homes, and hotels/motels. These students and families may not have the financial freedoms to provide basic supplies. By helping with providing resources for active learners, you will provide my students with confidence, emotional well-being, and provide a positive atmosphere when they are at school. It is our job as educators to ensure that all students have everything they require to make sure they are receiving the best education.

My Project

Donations to this project will help improve lessons and engagement for my students while getting them active. We will be using these hula hoops and games to help with the after school clubs, health fair, and overall teaching of healthy active living. This will give them opportunities to actively participate, have resources such as hula hoops and skip ropes to enjoy while staying healthy and being active.

Ultimately, my students' lives can change for the better by becoming more engaged in class, confident, and become better students for the future by being able to use their energy to be active and learn how to stay healthy while playing.

This will allow them to learn healthy habits while showing each student that being active can be fun! These habits will be taught during clubs, fairs, and other activity times for our students in our building.
