My Students

Move those desks! Each year, I have created the best learning environment for my students. This year I want to maximize my space with new desks. I found a desk that adds to the look of a classroom and to the collaborative instruction that takes place within the classroom. So let's huddle up!

I teach math to a very energetic bunch of boys and girls in a neighborhood school that supports and educates its children.

My school receives support from the Title 1 and Free Lunch programs. I would love to say that my students have everything that they need, but that is not true. With recent changes in our school budget, we have not been able to make needed changes within our school for our students. My goal this year is to improve the quality of education within my classroom with an extreme classroom makeover.

My Project

The new desks will replace the old desks in my classroom. I have tried every year to give my classroom an open feel where my students can work in different areas of the classroom on different learning activities. The new desks will allow me to arrange my classroom with learning centers that will give students more space. The new arrangements will allow for small group instruction to take place without being so close. I would also be able to set up a better computer station using the new desks instead of a long table pushed up against the wall.

My goal is to open up my classroom and get away from the assembly line format of the past.

The new desks will give my classroom a more welcoming feel and allow my students to move about the room freely. Your support of this project will help to create a more modern learning environment and help to inspire my students.
