Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl is a remarkable tradition that began in 1986 with Helen Ruffin, a librarian from DeKalb County, Georgia. Over the years, this competition has expanded to become a statewide event, involving elementary, middle, and high school students across Georgia. It includes local, district, and state-level competitions.

As a coach for the HRRB, you must feel the excitement and anticipation that this competition brings.

The love for learning is deepened by the competitive spirit that permeates the event. Books, competition notebooks, and buzzers play a crucial role in preparing students for the upcoming challenge.

Dedication and hard work as a coach, along with the support of generous donors, can help our team soar forward and perhaps even achieve a top placement in the upcoming competition. May you help us continue to thrive in our love for reading and learning!
