My Students

In a world where obesity is a growing problem, this project will help motivate my students and give them a hands-on opportunity to see and study the various styles of dance offered around the world.

I teach in a culturally diverse Title 1 school, and seeing dances from other cultures including their own can help increase their interest and motivate their study of dance.

This will also help introduce new styles of dance using images, biographies and videos. Many students in my school do not have the opportunity to see live performances and this laptop will help give them the opportunity to see dance.

My Project

Having a laptop in my classroom will help me to project information and dance videos for students to watch and also learn new moves. With this laptop I can use it to introduce new dance forms as well as see a live demonstration of the steps. It will also allow students who cannot be physically active in my class an opportunity to research dance and learn about our studies.

Being in a Title 1 school most students do not have the opportunity to go and see live dance performances.

By having this laptop, students will now be able to see various dances and dance companies that we are studying.
