My Students

Save our furry friends! Kids today live in the information age. My students need to be able to express their views on current environmental issues in new technology fashion. A electronic image is worth a thousand words!

I am an exceptional child educator (ECE) in a rural area Kentucky school with a high concentration of poverty.

I teach 12 special needs students and a collaboration class that includes general education students. In either a pullout classroom or a mixed ability classroom, my students can shine when working with hands-on and technology-based types of activities.

My Project

What happens to the wildlife because of increasing green house gases, pesticide use, and habitat loss? Many 'Furry Vengeance' critters, as well as others, are deeply affected by these issues. As an extension of current projects, we are using a digital camcorder, HP netbook computer and HP Officejet printer to communicate environmental issues threatening wildlife and the need for wildlife habitat preservation. The requested HP netbook case, HP Bluetooth network adapter and HP wireless mouse will allow us to create and publish in vivid electronic format to CD/DVD, the web or printed material for our audience. The knowledge and use of technology is essential for the success of my students in today's world!
