How Tragic If ...Young Andy Warhol Didn't Have Art Mediums

My project needs a variety of art materials in order for my pre-students to complete projects. The children will experience a rich array of learning activities as a result.

I would like to begin by thanking all the people that support this wonderful organization. I am a very enthusiastic pre-k teacher in New York City. I am always seeking ways to inspire my young students and give them opportunities to express themselves. My goal is to present as many different disciplines as I can into my classroom. That is why I am turning to you. I am in need of art materials for my young children to create great designs, drawings, paintings, collages and projects. It is extremely important to integrate art into an early childhood program. I want to make sure I have the mediums to give these children an amazing year. I would even have enough supplies for next years' class as well. I would love to implement an art center within my classroom that is inviting to the children and will peek their curiosity about exploring the world around them. They would be free to use their imagination and the inner artistic ability that does exist in every child would come to fruition. Please make this magical artistic journey possible. I am requesting different types of paper, glue, crayons, paint and materials for collages. We need glitter, wiggly eyes, foam, yarn, spray bottles, sequins, shapes, and seashells. I absolutely love to see the sense of accomplishment and joy when a young child completes a project. They are so proud! Children need to explore sensory materials as it strengthens their fine motor skills. Their artwork also gives them confidence as it reflects their experiences and ideas. An education in the arts also ensures an enriched cultural opportunity , stronger analytical skills and higher achievement in other subject areas. They will learn to design, invent and problem solve. Lastly, these materials will help reinforce the skills taught in our classroom. Thank you for reading this proposal. Your donation would enable my young students to create wonderful works of art.
