My Project

It is no secret that schools are a safe haven for most of our students. Our school population consists of students from underserved communities with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. We try to provide a welcoming and safe environment, and a designated reading time supports that.

Snacking while reading in school can offer several benefits.

First, it can provide students with the energy they need to stay focused and engaged in their studies. Second, it can help students relax and recharge between classes, which can improve their overall mood and well-being. Finally, snacking while reading can be a fun and enjoyable way to break up the monotony of a long school day.

The goal of our project is to provide supplies for our Reading Time in our classroom. These supplies will enable students to enjoy a good book and snack together during our designated reading time or when they need a social or emotional break independently. Students can choose a snack and find a quiet spot to read.
