My Project

This project looks to build our Keiki Graphics club's drawing book library. Here in Hawaii the word "Keiki" means children, thus, our after school club is a student operated graphics service for our school. A part of our club looks at building student artistic skills and repertoire. We capitalize on the students' interest and talents in the arts to build leadership and collaboration skills while also giving back to our school community by printing stickers, banners, and t-shirts.

Creating is an outlet of expression, as well as a means to show what students know/learn!

One of the future goals of the club is to have students step into the teacher role in becoming experts in a specific type of art. These student leaders will then teach the art lessons to their peers so we can reach and involve a wider range of students in learning about the arts.

The materials we are asking for will help us to reach this long term goal! The "how to draw" books will assist in student learning to become an expert in their area. It also provides a step by step way for them to teach their peers! The figures will be used for the realistic and manga drawing groups to support their learning of these types of art. Thank you for your consideration in supporting our Keiki Graphics After School Club!

Ms. Nakasone will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by July 22.
