My Project

Let's have fun reading! My students have really enjoyed the series, How to Catch. The books are predictable and seasonal or theme-related. My students share the reading experience with each other and even have read-alouds on the carpet. It is a great set of books to spark an interest in reading. Please help add more books from this series, as well as, the Turkey Trouble series to our classroom library.

Trying to make reading fun for a generation that lives for onscreen time is difficult.

So as a teacher when you find something that they willingly pick up and read, you want to provide all opportunities for it to happen.

Attending a STEM/STEAM school that incorporates performing arts, visual arts, coding, computer science, financial literacy, and social-emotional learning (SEL with Second Step program) gives our students the chance to explore who they are. Our urban school receives federal funding for programs that provide free breakfast/lunch for every student, and Title I services to economically-disadvantaged boys and girls. Our inclusive class serves military families, gifted/talented students, ESL/ELL students, special education students, and tech-savvy students.
