My students are active and curious. They enjoy learning through play and hands on activities. We have two separate "center" time - literacy centers and math workstations. They learn best when I differentiate their learning experiences. Our school is a Pre-K through 12th grade public school in a small town in South Carolina. My students come from loving homes whose parents want what's best for their children.
They enjoy exploring with their senses and working together.
I can count on them to come to school each day with a smile on their faces, ready to take risks. I am amazed at how excited these little five year olds are about becoming readers, writers, mathematicians and scientists.
My Project
Young learners thrive with an independent time to practice skills they have learned during whole group and small group instruction. Literacy Centers is the time for this practice in my classroom. I have had a library center in my room, but my students do not always choose to spend a lot of time there.
By donating to our project, you will assist my little readers to cozy up with a good book in a library with a space of its own.
After I read books during my ELA block, I always want to give my students a chance to continue to enjoy them, but I don't have a separate spot just for enjoying these stories. My students will be able to have a space to reread our favorite books on a soft and comfy rug with some colorful and inviting seats.
