Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students hunger for knowledge. They have had many obstacles get in the way of their education, but they never give up. Not having much has given them the appetite for success. By teaching them about change and social justice, they will learn how important their voices are in this world.
As part of an International Baccalaureate World School, we need to show them their place in this world and expose them to the possibilities of change for the best.
I teach my students about social justice. Through that, I help them find their voice and advocate for themselves. I help them find their identity, their role as an activist, and as a leader for positive change that is equitable. I help them find their community and explore what they feel needs to be done to help. I help them understand that they will soon inherit the future and that it will be their turn to continue to give back.
