Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a final project for biology, I would like my students to dissect a cat. This is such a classic science experience, but it can be so much more. The final topic of biology 1 is evolution as we finish the year in analyzing anatomical similarities and differences of animals.
As a tie in to missing previous knowledge of my students, we teach a mini lesson on human anatomy from which they will compare to other animals.
My students know so little about their own human body, so this experience not only lets them dissect a frog, but also help teach them to identify and know the function of human organs as well.
