Help me give my students an opportunity to learn how to compost food scraps into nutrient-rich additives for our school garden.

My Project

Our school has over 1000 students who eat lunch and snacks every day. There is too much nutrient-rich food waste that students can collect and compost.

Composting food scraps will help our school garden grow, teach students the hands-on concept of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, and teach students how to use organic compost in personal gardens.

Our garden needs enriched soil to thrive. Students can learn how to create soil by adding food scraps, leaves, grass clippings, and any compostable product. Composting bins also help with student accountability. Students will collect, sort, fill, and turn the composting bins.
