it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students need 6 USB microphone headphones to use with the Imagine Learning Program. Having these headphones will help accelerate their English Language Learning.
I need to use the bathroom...how will I ask my teacher?...she does not speak my language.
Maybe I can just jump up and down, cross my legs, and look into her eyes? I wish I could speak English.
Our school is a Title I school with 99% low income children.
My students are very diverse with a variety of learning styles and need. We provide free breakfast and lunch to every child. That being said, they are the most rewarding children to teach! They have and will continue to overcome many obstacles and learn in spite of their struggles.
My Project
Our school has been blessed with technology through other grants, but the technology is nothing without headphones. We use a program called Imagine Learning to help English Language Learners (ELL's) acquire the English language. This program allows the students to learn English in an interactive manner. The headphones will allow them to listen without major distractions. The microphone portion will allow the students to try out the language in a safe environment.
The headphones will allow our ELL's to practice the English language.
They will be able to record and listen to their own voice in English. This will help them gain confidence and courage to use the English language.
