Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My loving, charismatic 4th grade students are outstanding and deserve the best learning opportunities offered. Our school is an inner city, high poverty school with a community of children who work very diligently to meet the requirements to stay in our magnet school. Our school has a wide range of diversity, with children from numerous countries and backgrounds. Overall, our school has over 45 different nationalities, that are celebrated throughout the whole year. My students are ambitious, respectful and most of all, loving!
My Project
As the years pass, our Chromebooks are getting older, warn in and starting to break. We have a limited supply of fully working Chromebooks, many in which the touchpads no longer work. Starting this month, students will be taking their Winter iReady Benchmark Assessment and in March they begin the SBAC testing. With one computer lab and numerous broken Chromebooks, we are going to struggle to get 18 classrooms to share and complete all the necessary assessments on time.
With your help and donations, we are looking to purchase 10 computer mice, so we can gain access to the Chromebooks with the broken touchpads to complete our assessments.
By receiving these mice, my students will be able to complete the appropriate assessments, use the Chromebooks more in lessons and not struggle every time they try to use the touchpad on the Chromebooks.
