This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are almost entirely immigrant and many of them still English Language Learners. Our school has long believed that the visual arts is a place that all students can succeed regardless of their language ability. To accomplish this our students are now given a CHOICE of electives that they can to pursue.
My energetic group of students has chosen to take Digital Photography!!!
Here we will work with cameras and computers to go out into their homes and our neighborhood to see it what they see through their own eyes.
My Project
These cameras will allow the students to explore photography as their chosen art form. The students will work throughout the year exploring all elements of photography and use the medium to develop a visual literacy. Each student will ultimately create their very own book of their own images that will printed for them to take home. These cameras will go a long way in helping them create their own personal vision!
I have told my students that more photographs will be taken TODAY around the globe than were taken in the entire 19th Century.
They should help to create this digital photo album.
