This year is the second year for the theatre department at my school. The students dove head first into the theatre department last year and are showing tons of excitement for the future of the program. Most of my students have very little experience and exposure to theatre outside of the school. It is my goal to allow opportunities for students that they would not have otherwise.
My students are excited to create and discover through their involvement in theatre.
Being we are a new department at a new school, we do not have many resources currently at our fingertips and this is where we could use a little help.
My Project
My students need stage makeup and hair accessories to have the hands-on experience of creating a character through adjusting makeup and hair for our production of Addams Family The Musical. These high quality products will allow them to have a more professional and neat finished product. Allowing the students the hands-on experience will give them ownership in their character even more and allow them to add a skill set to their resume. The ghostly characters in Addams Family will have the opportunity to come to "life" when the students have the ability to fully transform using the light makeup colors and applicators. Giving the students the opportunity to transform their character through stage makeup will be the final step in bringing their characters to life.
Not only will the students have the opportunity to learn how to properly apply stage makeup, but they will also be able to share their skills with their audience.
Students will take these skills and apply them to every production they do in the future.
