My Project

Students today rely so much on technology, from Chromebooks to cell phones...but not all tools are considered equal. These calculators will allow us to simplify fractions, solve equations, convert decimals, and find the cubed root of a number, along with other functions needed for junior high math standards. It is very frustrating for the students who already struggle in math to follow along when the tools they are using have different locations and names of keys. If we were all to have the same calculator, learning which keys to use helps them become efficient and effective, and focus on learning the new skills versus battling the different technology.

When I came into this classroom, midway through a school year due to their teacher abruptly leaving in December, I came into a math room that had no math supplies.

I have hunted and saved different materials that I've been given from other teachers, but it would be nice to have a basic necessity for each student.
