My Students

This year is not the typical year for my students. They are not acting like the typical students as well. They talk about missing "normal" school and how much they miss their friends and family. They are thrilled to be in class two days a week. Class discussions are much quieter due to our low numbers in the room. They seem reluctant to use their voice that is covered up by a mask.

My Project

My goal for this project is to help my students identify their feelings on a daily basis with the travel size emoji flipbooks. They will be able to find how they are feeling and leave it sitting at their spot. They will be able to see examples of how to cope with their feelings by looking at the flipbook as well. The poster I am requesting will also help my students identify the feeling of each emoji in their book.

Drawing can be very helpful when the words are a struggle.

I want to give my students comic strips and sketch pads so they can draw how they are feeling or just spend some downtime doodling. Finally, I'm asking for speech bubble name tags for their spots so they know they have a voice that I would love to hear!
