Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title 1 school surrounded by a super involved and very tight knit community. Our school has free lunch and breakfast, along with low economic standing. Due to coming from low income homes, my students don't get the chance to go to gymnastics, soccer practice, and many other after school activities that other small children get to do.
My hope for my students is that they come to school full of ENERGY and they leave full of KNOWLEDGE!
How do I do that when they're bottoms don't stay in their chairs all the time? Easy: Find wobbly chairs for their wobbly bottoms. Problem solved.
My Project
Have you ever felt like you could do a project but you had too much energy? For us adults, we could usually go for a jog or to the gym to release that energy before starting said project but when you're 5...that's not an option.
With these wiggle chairs and portable desks, my students will have the opportunity to let their sillies out right here in my classroom!
It's silly to think that 5 year olds have TOO much energy. They're 5, that's the perfect amount of energy needed to soak up all the knowledge! Being able to have these seats will not only help these kids release a little energy, but also to succeed.
