Houses, Brooms, Kindness: A Harry Potter Quidditch Leadership Tournament!

Help me give my students a creative way to build leadership, support mental wellness and a strong classroom community. The Harry Potter Quidditch field kit, wand-making materials, puzzles books, will be a magical, team-building kickoff to their year!

My Project

Project Overview:

Help launch my 4th grade students into a magical school year with a Harry Potter-themed Leadership and Quidditch Tournament!

Through imagination, movement, and teamwork, students will build relationships, grow leadership skills, and learn the true power of kindness — all while staying active and engaged.

My Students:

My 4th graders are curious, creative, and full of energy. They come from many backgrounds and bring unique strengths to our classroom community. They thrive when given opportunities to move, connect, and feel like they belong. This magical kickoff will help them step into the year with confidence and connection.

My Project:

During the first week of school, our classroom will become Hogwarts! With your support, I’ll purchase a Harry Potter Quidditch set (hoops, balls, team flags), 18 broomsticks, Harry Potter books, wand-making supplies, and themed items like cauldrons, figurines, and props.

We’ll begin with a Hogwarts Sorting Ceremony, where students join their House and begin working together on magical challenges. They’ll design their own wands, play a modified and active Quidditch tournament, and take part in a Triwizard Tournament with obstacle courses, riddles, and teamwork games.

Students will also explore activities like:

Magical Creature Hunts

Potion Making Labs

Wizard Photo Booths

Spell Practice & Trivia Challenges

Each station encourages communication, creativity, movement, and kindness. Students will cheer each other on, celebrate unique talents, and learn that leadership begins with lifting others up.

The Impact:

This magical experience will set the tone for a year of compassion, collaboration, and confidence. Students will:

Move their bodies in joyful ways

Build lasting friendships

Practice leadership and empathy

Learn that kindness is the greatest magic of all

At a time when mental wellness and social connection are more important than ever, this project gives my students a powerful, playful foundation.
