Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our Title I school is located in an area that is filled with a very diverse group of young learners. Some, not all, of our students are considered to be both special needs as well as English Language Learners (ELL).
My students are extremely inquisitive and always asking questions and looking to explore new ideas on a daily basis.
The funding from this project would enable us to start a T-Shirt making club. The club would create shirts for school events.
My Project
Our school is working to start a T-Shirt Club, where kids will be able to create shirts for small school events. This project is requesting a Cricut Air 2 which will be used to create different designs and cut them out on heat transfer vinyl. The machine comes in a bundle that also includes some vinyl as well as tools needed. This project is also requesting a heat press that will be used to adhere the vinyl to the shirts.
We believe this project will help our students in the regard to art, creativity, flexibility, patience, and responsibility.
We also feel that creating these shirts this will provide students with a sense of pride and a feeling of maturity.
