Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a Literacy teacher, nothing is more demoralizing than your students telling you that your classroom library is "booooor-ringgggg." Many of my students are itching to read... they just haven't found the right book.

I teach three classes of energetic and motivated 7th graders in Brooklyn, NY.

We work with reading in our Language Arts class every single day! And with 90-plus kids all taking out books from my classroom library; the pickings can get slim. My students would love to dive into some brand new books...we just don't have any.

My Project

But that's where you come in! By infusing these new, hot titles into my "boring" library, you'd be giving my kids the spark that they need AND deserve. They'd be more motivated to read and excited to read on a daily basis. That's a pretty amazing and special accomplishment.

By sprinkling these books into my library, there would be an immediate and meaningful impact on my three classes.

Only GREAT THINGS could come from getting books into their hands that they have been clamoring to read. Make a young teen's day by helping them read something that excites and astounds them!
