Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students have a difficult time staying focused in the classroom, but when it is computer time they light up with excitement. They are very focused when they have assignments on the computer. If they had it their way they would be on the computer 24/7. Most of my students do not have computers at home, so they love to explore educational websites that interest them. I have a variety of different learners in my classroom, but all of them are eager to learn and love learning.

My Project

These Hot Dot pens and cards will help in my classroom by allowing my students to work independently on math standards that they struggle with daily. This also gives them a way to self check their answers by seeing the pen light up green if it is right and red if it is wrong. This is very important because the students need to be able to check so see if their answers are correct. I have three groups during my math lesson. I have a group, a computer group, and an independent group. The pens will help because I will not have to leave my group to check the independent groups paper.
