My Students
My students are awesome! They are curious. They are bright. They are easily intrigued. They are anxious to learn new things and explore their world. As teacher to these amazing creatures, my goal is to fuel their hunger for new information and foster their love of learning. What a privilege!
Our school is in a rural community in South Carolina, where tradition is thick and families depend on one another.
I have students who come from every socioeconomic level - high to very low. I have students from many different races, religions, and academic levels. Their interests are just as diverse! My students are full of personality and are just beginning to discover that they can make a difference in their world. As a result, I want to give them every opportunity I can to improve their math skills - skills that will help them be successful in a world where Math and Science is the future.
My Project
In my classroom, we will use these Hot Dots pens and card sets for independent study or centers. The pen works with dozens of Hot Dots card sets, providing instantaneous visual and audio feedback. Students just press the pen to chose an answer on any Hot Dots card for an immediate response - cool, kid friendly phrases for correct answers and gentle redirection for incorrect responses. How fun! Students will LOVE the independence and creative way to practice skills that will take them to the next level.
With Common Core right around the corner, every minute in the classroom is important!
Having Hot Dots pens and cards will be a great way to make sure students have something to do when they finish their assignment early, etc. No time will be wasted!
