My Students

Can you imagine how disheartening it is to wander into your classroom library as a 7th grade student and not find any books from your favorite genre? Well, my classes have had to endure that feeling for far too long. They love mysteries and suspense-filled dramas, and it's about time they get some!

I teach three classes of hard working 7th graders from all backgrounds and ability levels.

However, they all share a common love - and that's the love of mystery and suspense books. My kids really get motivated when they get their hands on a real page-turner that can hold their interest and keep their eyes glued to those pages! Unfortunately, in my classroom library, those books are difficult to come by.

My Project

No better time to read than RIGHT NOW! Kids are often active outside during the warmer months, but now that winter is basically upon us in New York City, it's time to get some fresh books into the library for my classes to snuggle up to and read on those cold, dark winter days!

By injecting these hot new titles into the classroom library, my kids will be tossing aside their electronics for a brand new book in no time!

Books are difficult to come by in my school with budget and funding issues. Motivating some kids to read is tough. Motivating them to read when all I have are "books I read last year" is just about impossible. My classes would LOVE to sink their teeth into some new books...if we only had them!
