My Students

Our school is filled with incredible students who love to come to school every day! They are such happy individuals with so much empathy and curiosity! The staff at our school learns as much from the students as the students do from us about life and the world.

My students bring many different cultures from around the world into our classroom every day, creating a rich and deep learning environment.

It is an amazing environment to teach about diversity because it is so evident. I am truly indebted to my students for all they teach me about life and their culture.

My Project

These books are all fresh and hot off the press that are on topics that are relatable to our students. These books have BIPOC, LBGQT+, disabled and other diverse characters. These books also discuss and embrace differences in people and push towards empowerment. The goal if this project is funded to share these books with our social justice team and also the K-5 classroom teachers to use as read aloud to extend our wonderful social justice and equity teaching. These 14 books will be used throughout content areas to promote diversity.
