My Project

This project will provide kindergarten students with hands-on Easter activities, including a structured egg hunt, wooden egg decorating, and a copy of the book Pete the Cat: Big Easter Adventure for each child. During the egg hunt, each egg will be numbered, and students will search only for eggs that match their assigned numbers. This fun activity supports number recognition, counting, one-to-one correspondence, and following multi-step directions while keeping students moving and engaged.

Many students don’t have access to special holiday experiences outside of school, so this project ensures that all children can participate in joyful, meaningful celebrations.

As students paint and decorate wooden eggs, they explore colors, patterns, and textures while developing fine motor skills, creativity, and early problem-solving. The wooden eggs are theirs to take home, allowing them to enjoy and remember their creations for years to come.

Reading Pete the Cat: Big Easter Adventure together extends the learning by supporting literacy, listening skills, and comprehension, while connecting the holiday activities to a fun story. These combined experiences promote cooperation, confidence, and positive social interactions, helping students build foundational academic skills while fostering a love of learning. By integrating math, creativity, literacy, and inclusive celebration, this project creates lasting memories and supports students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
