Help me give my students the ability to work independently on assignments, access to text-to-speech, and the experience of listening to audio from educational videos or print!

My Students

My students come from all different types of backgrounds in the Camden, DE area. I teach 4 sections of inclusion classes with students who have disabilities, including a large number who require text to speech in order to access the material. Each student is unique and that is what I love about them. I teach about 150 sixth grade students daily and I enjoy seeing so many faces and learning all of their personalities.

My Project

My students frequently need access to headphones. We have bought cheap headphones in the past that can't handle the wear and tear of daily use. My students each have their own Chromebook, which is so helpful when we are doing assignments that require an online connection but without headphones, often times students have trouble focusing on the content because they can't hear. By providing a class set of durable and quality headphones, my kids are able to access texts that they wouldn't be able to read without audio and videos to help introduce and reinforce concepts taught in the classroom.
