Hopeful for Headphones

Help me give my students students headphones for hearing researched-based learning apps and computer programs, music stations, online books, and technology centers.

My Students

I am an autistic and emotional support teacher at my kindergarten through second-grade school. There are currently twelve students in my classroom.

My students have huge hearts, which shines in their daily interactions with each other.

They work on sharing, turn-taking, acts of kindness, communication skills, and coping skills to assist them in making positive choices for themselves and others.

My students enjoy learning in a variety of ways, which include: play centers, music, kinesthetic, listening stations, cooperative learning, intensive teaching skills, technology, investigative/inquiry design, and independent study topics.

My Project

My students participate in a variety of activities that have the need for headphones. Some of these learning opportunities include learning app/programs, read-aloud books, teacher-created powerpoints that state the sight words for students to hear and see, games, and other educational activities.

Imagine being on a computer, and your headphones are sliding off your ears, or you are trying to hear it without headphones and are disrupting those around you.

These are some of the frustrating situations that occur when students do not have enough headphones for their listening stations and learning

Headphones will allow students a chance to have individualized time with programming that enables them to engage, inquire, listen, and enjoy learning.
