This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come to our school as they have struggled in other learning environments. We have changed countless lives in our 14 year history. Students who stay with us for two years improve their academic performance. Our ultimate goal it to show our students that their future is full of possibilities. We work to enhance their classroom learning with many enrichment and career exploration projects. Community is at the heart of our learning model, and we appreciate all the support we are given as we build the future generation.

My Project

We would like to expand our technology enrichment activities for our students. These types of tools have been used in several sites and been well-received by students and staff. Our students have been motivated to learn and lead others in activities with these tools. This has also been a great family engagement tool as they have been invited to the classroom to watch demonstrations by the students. While these tools are good for small groups, we are hoping we can bring them to several sites and have more than a few students use them. Our intent is that these tools will spark interest in our students to explore future careers in STEM.
