Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are noticeably more engaged in physical activity and social play with classmates when we have access to fun and varied equipment. My class is a self-contained special education classroom grades 1-3. Some students have adaptive PE goals and services written in their IEPs. All of the students benefit from regular engagement in physical activities, as well as fun, and structured activities to work on social-emotional-behavior goals, such as taking turns, sharing, waiting in a line, etc.
The students will engage in daily activities with peers that promote interaction with peers and that provide structure for students to practice following directions and skills.
