Help me give my students in Special Education Self- Contained classroom the Insignia dryer and washer to increase school attendance by making sure they have access to clean clothes while learning good hygiene and grooming skills.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Every student wants to learn and dress like their peers. Having a washer and dryer will increase my students' school attendance and give them the confidence to be around other students. Almost, everyday I have at least three students come to school with soiled clothes on that they wear for weeks without being washed. They feel bad and embarrassed and I feel bad for them. Having a washer and dryer in the classroom will give them clean clothes on the spot, and teach them life skills that will help them with hygiene and grooming as well as having pre-job skills at sorting, washing, and folding clothes. My students are special because they are my students. They want to dress like their peers and be accepted by their peers without being bullied and put down because of they way they look and smell.
