This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in a Title I school where most of my students come from low-income households. Many don't always have all the supplies/resources they need for school. The school supply list asks for headphones, but many don't see them as a necessity, like pencils or paper. We have reading, speaking, and writing programs for my struggling students that are beneficial. However, these programs require the use of headphones with microphones.

I would love to have a few headphones to replace the non-working ones, so that every student has a pair to use.

At the moment, they must share the few I have. This doesn't allow for very good utilization of the programs.

The other items (wipes/disinfectant) will help to keep them clean and sanitized. The candy is a little treat to keep them focused while completing their assignments.

Having these headphones would be very essential in helping all of my students, but especially the ones struggling, with improving their reading, writing, and speaking skills.
