My Project
I love that my students have a natural curiosity about the world around them. Most of them have never seen an egg hatch much less are even aware that some animals come from eggs!
I still remember watching my dad incubate eggs, marking them as he'd rotate them, and then we would take care of them until they were old enough to survive the natural elements.
Just like I did, I hope my students will learn just how fragile chicks are and the work that goes into growing them and keeping them safe. Of course, they won't realize the compassion and life skills they are gaining by doing this because to them, it feels too much like fun!
Did I mention how easy it would be to get my students to write about this process? Kids love writing about things they know from personal experience!
