My Students

Many of our students come from high-risk, low-income backgrounds.

Some students face learning disabilities and struggle with learning English as a second language. They are eager to learn, tackle challenges, and absorb new experiences. However, we need additional support to offer our students new opportunities. Our students are eager to be part of a team and be active; however, there are limited programs and supplies available.

My Project

We have been building our school basketball program steadily over the past few years, reaching more students and offering more support inside and outside the classroom. Our team is built around becoming well-rounded student athletes who work hard together in the classroom and on the court. We need basketballs, nets, and storage devices to help better organize our practices and the equipment closet. We travel over an hour for away games and need bags to transport our equipment.

We directly link our program to the classroom.

Each student will have individual improvement plans for their academic progress and behavior. Study halls will take place before practices, and students will conference with teachers and coaches. These supplies will help our student athletes become fit and ready for success and ensure that our equipment can be enjoyed by students for years to come.
