My students are always amazing! They surprise me each and every day and keep me learning more for them. We seriously have some of the best students in our small-town elementary school.
My students are always ready to try something new and because of that, I want to be a better teacher every day.
I want to grow with them! Our school includes over 60% free or reduced-price lunch recipients, but together our community, parents, and staff work to get us everything we need. I am so grateful to have wonderful people like you also partnering with us to help get our students everything they so deserve.
Currently, I am helping with our youth basketball program. These girls and boys are super fun to watch learn and grow in youth basketball.
My Project
This year we are continuing to build a basketball program for our younger girls and boys. A wonderful group of volunteers have stepped up to coach and help with practices and games. We currently have over 20 children that are going to participate in our 3rd and 4th grade basketball program, and another 60 in our K-2 program. That is great news!
"All kids need is a little help, a little hope, and someone who believes in them." -Magic Johnson
Basketball is setting a foundation to help these young athletes learn the fundamentals and be able to use those as they continue to practice throughout the year.
In addition to learning and building on skills, youth sports teaches children many life lessons like how to be a part of a team and how to respect others. It also helps them develop leadership skills, determination, resiliency, heart, and dedication.
We would like to have a t-shirt for every kid. They can wear these at school or to basketball games! Our local vendor has worked out great pricing with us. We are also in need of a few additional basketballs for practice.
Our goal is to introduce them to the sport, teach, inspire, encourage, and support them. All of our volunteers have a passion for the sport and we are excited to help young athletes!
