This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work at a Title I school and my students are amazing, hard working and kind. Unfortunately, because of the economic demands of living in NYC, many of my students do not have easy access to many of the items they may need throughout the school day.
This project will help my students have access to replacement lanyards and ID pouches they are required to wear daily.
My school recently started a new ID system where students are required to wear their id in a plastic pouch worn on a lanyard around their neck. However, one week in we are finding students with broken lanyards and pouches and no way to replace them. This project would allow me to replace them when they break so my students wear their IDs and we are a safer environment.
