Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students need to gain foundational skills to be successful readers. As students begin to read they are usually hooked. They become confident and proud of themselves when they begin to read. 95% of all students can learn to read if they have the opportunity to learn foundational skills. First grade is a crucial year to learn these skills. I’m asking for sound chips and wands to help students blend sounds into words. I’m also asking for a sound wall to give students a visual for sound formations and spelling rules. I would like mirrors for students to watch their mouths to make sounds correctly. I also would like some fun reading decorations to make my classroom library fun and inviting for students.
