Hooked on Reading

My students need books to spark their interest, their imagination, and be as diverse as they are!

My Students

My students are a diverse and creative group of individuals who are rediscovering their love of reading! Because my students come from a variety of economic backgrounds, it is so important to have the library accessible to them and for them to find themselves in a book. For a high school librarian, there is no greater joy than my students eagerly encouraging their friends to read a particular book because they love that book. Fostering that love of reading is our mission!

My Project

Because of budget cuts, our library's collection has fallen out of date and we have difficulties keeping up with the latest trends and hottest titles. Currently, our collection as an overall average date of 1985! These new titles will greatly benefit our library by allowing us to weed out the old, dated books and replace them with high interest, diverse, and relevant books.

These books will give our students the opportunity learn, grow, and love reading.

Our student's interests are as diverse as the students themselves and it is vital that a library's collection reflect that diversity.

Your generous donation to our project will help foster the love of reading in our students and improve the overall quality of our library.
