Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember when you wanted to keep listening to more stories at school? My students feel the same way when they visit their listening center.
Most of my kindergarten students are English Learners who speak a language other than English at home.
They need extra support in language/literacy development at school because they might not get enough help at home. Every student in my class is an enthusiastic learner who tries very hard to succeed in school.
My Project
The sing along/read along books with CD will be great for my students' oral language development. Students can learn new vocabulary and practice speaking by singing along with the CD repeatedly. They can also improve their literacy skills such as word recognition and reading fluency by reading along the books that play on the CD.
My students' favorite time of the day is the story time after lunch.
They love listening to fun stories and acting out the scenes with songs and gestures. The books on CD will inspire them to read more and help them succeed as independent readers.
