My Project

In first grade, students are introduced to many foundational phonics concepts that are essential to their growth as readers and writers. To support their development, I’m always seeking out engaging and effective reading materials that spark curiosity and provide the repetition they need to master these new skills.

Students who are learning to decode words benefit greatly from multiple exposures to the same phonics patterns.

High-interest, decodable readers offer the perfect blend of structure and fun, allowing students to practice their skills in a meaningful and enjoyable way.

With the decodable readers in the set from teacherspayteachers, I’ll be able to meet my students where they are—whether they need targeted intervention, on-level practice, or enrichment to push their thinking further. These books will help build their confidence, strengthen their reading foundations, and cultivate a lifelong love of reading.
