This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher at a Title I school in Greenville, South Carolina. My school is a high poverty school where all students receive free lunch and free breakfast.

At my school, "Every Student Counts, and Every Moment Matters!" We want the moments that matter most to be those in which our students learn not only the curriculum but life lessons that will carry them through their teenage years and into adulthood.

The students overcome obstacles every day in our school from language barriers to essential needs, but they still come to school with a smile on their face. I want to make their 5th grade year as special as possible. To do that, I need your help!

My Project

I teach in a high poverty school where some students don't own a jacket or only have one to keep them warm in the cold winters. Can you imagine walking to school in the winter(sometimes when it is still dark out) without a coat to keep you warm? For so many of my students THIS is a REALITY.

I treat these kids as if they were my own, and I would never want my child to go through the cold winter months without a jacket to keep warm.

My students absolutely love hooded jackets! Please help give my students their brand new own personalized hoodie with our class name "Henson Homies". These hoodies will help keep my students warm during the cold months in winter. Thank you so much for your interest in helping my classroom!
