This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are silly, fun, and transitioning into upper elementary students. They are still excited to learn, but are becoming more aware of the lack of funding in our public schools. I am hoping to provide many quality resources to start the year off strong, including pens, sharpies, and tape.

I am also asking for a variety of materials that allow students to see themselves, including books that are representative of their cultures, as well as sets of skin tone colored pencils.

These materials will come together to provide a well-stocked classroom, that shows that school should be a place they are proud of.

I work hard to create a classroom community where all students are seen, feel safe, and can be themselves. Having these materials actually supports this goal, as the classroom becomes a fun, engaging, and well-stocked place.
